On December 15, The Great Wall Motors Group unveiled the L.E.M.O.N. hybrid DHT system for its hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in electric vehicles.

The Chinese concern developed it in three years time on its own and received 199 patents. As a result, it is possible to achieve a consumption of 4.6 l / 100 km and an electric range of 200 km (125 miles) based on NEDC method.

The unit uses a gasoline 1.5 liter naturally aspirated engine or a 1.5 turbocharged, plus a dedicated hybrid transmission with integrated electric motors and a 45kwh battery pack (80% charge in 30 minutes). Theoretically, the top-end PHEV hybrid with all-wheel drive should be able to develop 435 hp, 300 Nm and going to 60 mph in 5.2 s.
