GDCI

GDCI (acronym for Gasoline Direct Injection Compression Ignition) is a low-temperature and low pollution combustion process intended to be used in internal combustion engines where fuel is directly injected into the cylinder and partially premixed prior to the start of heat release. GDCI engine injects and premixes a charge during compression stroke. The premixed charge is too lean to ignite during the compression stroke, so the charge will ignite after the last fuel injection ends near TDC (top dead center). Working concept of a GDCI engine is like those of Diesel engine, but the GDCI engine can run on a variety of fuels.
